A practical guide

Choose paper, orientation and margin.

  1. Choose a PDF and select A4 or US Letter output paper.
  2. Set portrait or landscape orientation and the page margin.
  3. Create the copy and inspect content scale and clipping on representative pages.

Try this example

Choose A4 portrait and a margin for a three-page source. Inspect the output pages to confirm the proportional fit preserves all visible content.

After

Questions and answers

How do I change a PDF from Letter to A4?
Add the PDF, pick A4 as the output paper, set portrait or landscape and the margin, then create the copy. The content is fitted proportionally.
Will the content be stretched?
No. Content keeps its proportions. If the page shapes differ, some empty space can remain on the page.
Which paper sizes can I choose?
A4 or US Letter, in portrait or landscape orientation, with the page margin that you set.
Is the printed size exact?
Not guaranteed. The fit is proportional and does not certify a physical measurement scale. Check the margins and small text in the result.
Does the file leave my device?
No. Your files stay on your device and are processed in your browser.

If it did not work

It says the file is too big
For this layout the limit is 10 MiB and 200 source pages, and the result can be up to 40 MiB. Split the PDF with Split PDF and resize each part.
A signed PDF or an XFA form is refused
These files are not accepted. Resize the unsigned file, then sign the final copy.
The text looks too small after the change
A smaller target page or a larger margin shrinks the content. Reduce the margin, or choose the orientation that matches the source pages.
Bookmarks and document properties are missing
Document metadata and bookmarks are not preserved. Add them again to the new copy.
Comments or form fields look different
Comments and form fields are imprinted into the page or removed, as you choose, so their appearance may change. Check them in the result.
