A practical guide

Help everyone refer to the same page.

  1. Choose the PDF and configure the number style, starting value and position.
  2. Preview the placement against the page content.
  3. Create the copy and confirm its page sequence from start to finish.

Try this example

Add standard numbers 1-5 to a five-page client summary at bottom center. Check the cover and final page for any overlap before sending it.

Limits and important details

Bates: one PDF up to 10 MiB/200 pages, 40 MiB output, printable ASCII prefix up to 24 characters and suffix up to 16, 1-9 minimum digits and counters up to 999999999. This is not multi-file batch numbering or a certified legal workflow. Numbering adds text; it does not change PDF page labels or remove existing numbers. Overlays may cover content. Pages smaller than 72 pt and unsupported rotations are rejected.
